Payment Options

Our primary mission is to deliver the finest and most comprehensive health care available. In addition, we are also dedicated to making top-quality care as cost effective as possible. Our office doesn’t accept incremental payments, but to assist you with your healthcare investment, we provide the following payment options:

  1. Cash—including personal checks, bank debit cards, and money orders
  2. Discover, MasterCard, VISA and American Express
  3. For balances over $300 we participate with CareCredit Healthcare Finance.  This program offers a separate line of credit to cover healthcare needs through flexible financing options and no annual fees or prepayment penalties.

There is a same day discount of 10% for self-pay (no Insurance) patients. No additional discounts will apply.

UNINSURED SELF-PAY PATIENTS
We do provide care for patients who do not carry medical insurance. In this situation, payment for in-office charges is due at the time of service and payment is due prior to any elective surgical procedure.

REFRACTION POLICY
A refraction is the procedure performed by an eye doctor to determine the prescription needed for eyeglasses. A phoropter, fitted with various lenses, is used to perform the refraction. This is the part of the exam where the doctor gives choices and asks questions such as, 'which is better, one or two?'

As dictated by the federal government, the refraction is a non-covered service that must be billed separately from the exam. Because Medicare ruled this service non-covered, other medical insurance carriers have mandated the same policy. It is also required by Medicare, and therefore required by other medical insurance carriers, that the patient pays for the refraction separately from the exam.

Even if you don’t plan on getting new eyeglasses, you may want an updated refraction to determine if your present prescription is providing you with your best possible vision or if new lenses would help.  You may also want to have the refraction performed while you’re here and get a current prescription to keep on hand in case your eyeglasses break or are lost.  Please be aware that you may be refracted as part of the eye examination, and that payment is expected at the time of service.

WORKERS COMPENSATION
We will file your claim with Workers Comp if you provide us with information about your employer at the time of service.

BILLING
If billing is necessary, a statement will be mailed to you that’s due within 30 days. Charges and payments for services received during the last few days before your billing date may appear on the following month’s statement.

If you have questions about your bill, please call Julie at 308-865-2760 or toll free at 800-657-2112.
